Warranty conditions:

  • The warranty for all complete engines is one year with no mileage limit, and all components have a six-month warranty.
  • Anyone who assembles the new or reconditioned engine, be it a workshop or an individual, is responsible for completing the warranty certificate and sending it to our company (F.C. Trading GmbH) within a maximum period of 15 days.
  • After 1,000 km or 30 hours of operation, the first oil change is carried out, which is noted on the inspection card and sent in photocopy to F.C. Trading GmbH within 15 days of the inspection. Revision carried out.
  • In the event of a breakdown, F.C. Trading GmbH will be notified at the workshop’s expense and will provide us with all the necessary data to determine the causes of possible engine failure.

The warranty does NOT cover:

  • The consequences of vehicle downtime, mileage travel or tow trucks.
  • Lubricants that need to be replaced during inspections.
  • Fluids due to water loss in hoses and connections.
  • Overheating due to improper heating of the engine.
  • Oil leaks in seals and gaskets due to improper engine overheating.
  • The warranty is void in the following cases: a) due to internal or external manipulation without prior authorization from F.C. Trading GmbH. b) if the assembly certificate has not been sent to F.C. Trading GmbH. c) sale of the vehicle or name change. d) if the breakdown occurs due to a lack of oil or coolant or radiator damage. e) if the running-in periods are not respected, if the engine is disassembled or returned incomplete without our consent or if the failure is due to a malfunction of the water pump, gearbox or any other external element not supplied with the engine.
  • The payments for cases where the guarantee is accepted by our technical department are: working hours according to the hours established in the evaluation guide. If you have any questions about any of the points in our guarantee certificate, you can contact us and we will be happy to solve the problem for you.

Assembly instructions for engines (short engines or short blocks, bare engines or long blogs and complete engines):

The assembly of the engine is always carried out following the manufacturer’s instructions. We also require that a series of modifications be made to the engine, as this is essential for the processing of possible claims. These actions will be the following:

  • Change oil pump.
  • Replacing the oil cooler (cleaning with this type of product does not guarantee the safe life of the engine).
  • Check all injectors (if any are not within tolerances, we request their replacement). The best option would be to reinstall them all.
  • Have the injection pump checked by a specialist workshop.
  • Replacement of diesel and air filters.
  • Check the cooling and intake system (radiator, hoses, water pump, filter…) and replace if necessary.
  • Checking the engine flywheel.
  • Checking the particulate filter and the EGR gas regeneration valve.
  • Inspection of gearboxes and transmissions.
  • Plus all manufacturer specifications.
  • Once the engine is ready, the first step is to inject oil under pressure (half capacity) using an external pump so that all the lines are filled. Once this operation is completed, you can proceed to start the engine.

General assembly instructions for components. Instructions for the safe assembly of new, converted or used parts:

Please read these short assembly instructions carefully.

  • All spare parts, whether new, reconditioned or used, are subject to proper inspection. All work must be carried out by qualified personnel.
  • Clean all parts carefully and check for damage.
  • Observe the manufacturer’s technical specifications (oil clearances, tightening values, assembly instructions).

Necessary controls:

  • Measure the oil clearance of the main bearings, connecting rod bearings, camshaft bearings…..
  • Always use new screws when assembling the crank.
  • Measure and visually inspect the camshaft and tappets.
  • Check the sealing surfaces of the cylinder heads and always install new cylinder head bolts (expansion bolts).
  • Crankshaft: Remove crankshaft counterweights. Clean oil holes, install counterweights and tighten according to manufacturer’s instructions. Check the height of the pistons.
  • Always use new seals.
  • Always install new filters, especially air filters and oil filters.
  • For all engines that are delivered without oil, always pre-pump the engine (external pump) with oil. Never start it straight away as this can cause damage to the bearings. The manufacturer’s technical data also applies here.

It is important to note that failure to follow the instructions will void the warranty.
